Plans So far:-
The show will be based in a Pirate Stronghold in the Bahamas- 1718.
Props Needed- handcart fishing net ½ made. Town bell Stations:- TownGaol- Jailor, 2 Guards Walltop, Guards Powder Store- Guards Smuggler Den- Guards Tavern- Tavern Keeper Militia Camp Surgeon
Saturday 10am A few fires smoulder, seabirds wheel overhead, comatose pirates lie like felled combatants throughout the town, one appears to be cuddling a shovel. A few townspeople go about their work (occasionally shaking their heads at the wretched pirates). One or two pirates leave the tavern, still drinking and wander off towards the beach. A roar is heard from the tavern- ‘You damned cheat!’ A figure appears in the doorway, a shot is heard, the figure dives to one side. A pirate leaves the tavern, staggering somewhat. Both are grabbed by scruffy-looking militia and dragged off. 10.30 A group of well armed and better dressed thugs climb up onto the defensive walls. Town ‘Mayor’ :- ‘Listen now, it seems we have a disagreement over a matter of dice, well as you know we can’t let people just kill each other over such matters! To the beach!’ Large crowd heads down to the beach, both men are handed loaded pistols, pace out 10 paces. ‘Aim, FIRE!’ One is hit and is carried off to the surgeon. 11am Shots are heard and 3 pirates run into town from along the coast. They quickly report that a sizeable force of soldiers have been sighted. Bell is rung. Pirates arm themselves and rush to cut off the attack. Militia arrive and in larger numbers than expected- the pirates are quickly repelled and retreat in disorder. They are rallied at the wall- ranged combatants on the wall with a large force holding the town edge. Militia consolidate their territory. Wounded get seen to be surgeon... 12.10- LUNCH 12.45 Militia Approach under a flag of truce. They approach the wall and order the surrender of the port –pardons are offered
to all who do so immediately!
Signs posted regarding this. 1.15pm Town meeting- the town mayor has disappeared along with his militia and a large sum of money! Several ‘Captains’ come forward and rally the people. 2 say that they will take the pardon- to various ‘boo’s’ they depart. The rest speak of freedom from kings and tyrants and say they will resist. Defences are enhanced and guarding responsibilities divided up. Militia meet with deserters and pardon them. 2pm-3pm Pirates strike back! Pirates force back militia from edge of town recapturing areas taken earlier. Militia re-take areas. This will be done as an unscripted fights- with weight of numbers dictating outcomes- all involved can be 'killed' or injured- your 'character' will be free to take a part later. Prisoners can be taken by both sides and summarily shot later! Casualties can be collected at end under flag of truce. 3.30pm A cannon is brought up onto the walls and laid in the direction of the militia! Militia watch this happen and hastily retreat out of range. 4pm Militia commanders hold a meeting with some of those pardoned trying to find out more about the town’s defences and powder store. 3 Spies are dispatched to the town dressed as fishermen… 10am Shout from the wall top- the guard by the cannon is dead!- Throat cut and the cannon has been spiked- it will take all day to drill the touchhole! 11am KABOOM! Two figures are seen running from the powder store- followed by a massive explosion and smoke. 11.30amTown meeting Subject- hardly any powder left- just what was being carried by the sentries! What to do? 12am LUNCH 12.45am Militia return under flag of truce- The pirates react rudely... precipitating an all out attack. Pirates defeated as militia have superior numbers and firepower. Last pirates retreat onto wall and are chased down and wiped out by militia platoon fire. 1.45pm Meet the captured pirates 2pm Militia Parade and Firepower demonstration on the wall 2.30pm Trials and punishments 3.30pm KABOOM! Last Pirates break out and run away!
Taking Part!We can offer breakfast and lunch to participants and there is space for authentic and plastic camping (though limited plastic space!).
Gun Powder will be issued to those with appropriate tickets but we have a tight budget so we have a limited quantity- therefore we have to limit numbers of musketeers to a maximum of 30.
Currently space for

Participating groups must have at least £5 million public liability cover.
